Telford man pleads guilty to fake notes and drugs charges
A Wellington man has appeared before magistrates after being caught with a variety of class A drugs and counterfeit bank notes in Telford last year.
Andrew Marsden, 31, of Hall Meadow, Wellington, was sentenced at Telford Magistrates’ Court on 24 February 2026. The court heard that on 22 March 2025, Marsden was found in possession of a significant range of illegal substances and two fake £50 notes.
The haul of class A drugs included:
- 14.47 grams of MDMA
- 4 grams of Cocaine
- 3.39 grams of 2C-B
- 717 milligrams of DMT
- 67 milligrams of Crack Cocaine
In addition to the drug offences, Marsden also pleaded guilty to having custody or control of counterfeit currency with the intent to pass it as genuine.
The court took his guilty pleas into account during sentencing. For the possession of cocaine, Marsden was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
No separate penalties were issued for the remaining drug possession charges or the counterfeit currency offence. However, the magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of all drugs seized under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. A deprivation order was also made for the counterfeit £50 notes.
