Firefighters tackle blaze on disused railway line near Brockton Way

Fire crews were called out to a disused section of railway in Telford yesterday evening following reports of a fire.

A single appliance from Telford Central was dispatched to the scene at approximately 18:05 on Wednesday, 4 March. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a quantity of rubbish well alight on the embankment near Brockton Way.

Crews worked quickly to contain the flames, using one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading further along the dry embankment vegetation.

The incident was dealt with swiftly, and the crew returned to the station once the area was made safe. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not been officially confirmed.
