Telford man banned from driving after failing to provide specimen
A Leegomery man has been handed a 20-month driving disqualification after appearing before magistrates in Telford earlier this week.
Akash Sanadi, 27, of Aintree Close, appeared at Telford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 March, facing a charge of failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
The court heard that on 8 February 2026, in Telford, Sanadi was suspected of having driven a vehicle. During the course of an investigation into a potential driving offence, he was required to provide a specimen of breath for analysis but failed to do so without a reasonable excuse.
Sanadi entered a guilty plea, which the court took into account when determining the sentence. Magistrates imposed the following:
- Driving Disqualification: 20 months (obligatory for the offence).
- Rehabilitation: A reduction of 20 weeks is available if a driving course is completed by 14 April 2027.
- Fine: £450.00.
- Victim Surcharge: £180.00.
- Costs: £85.00 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
A collection order was made, with the total amount of £715.00 ordered to be paid in full by 28 March 2026.
