Sutton Hill man found guilty of being drunk and disorderly at police station
A man from Sutton Hill has been ordered to pay out nearly £900 after being found guilty of disorderly behaviour at a local police station.
Patrick Ward, 31, of Stebbings, was not present at Telford Magistrates’ Court on Monday for his trial, but the case against him was proved in his absence.
The court heard that the incident took place on 30 January 2026.
Ward was found to be drunk and acting in a disorderly manner in a public place, specifically the car park of Malinsgate Police Station. This behaviour is a breach of the Criminal Justice Act 1967.
Following the hearing on 16 March, Magistrates issued a fine of £220. However, the cost of the proceedings added a significant burden to the total, with Ward ordered to pay £650 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
