A Leegomery man has been handed a lengthy prison sentence after police dismantled a sophisticated drugs operation in Telford. Officers uncovered evidence of a “profit-driven” enterprise pulling in thousands of pounds a day before the ‘Goldie’ line was finally shut down.

A 19-year-old from Hadley has appeared in court after being caught behind the wheel of a Nissan X-Trail. The sentencing follows several offences committed last summer, resulting in a fresh driving ban and a financial penalty.

A Gloucester man stole from a Telford Co-op, even walking away with a charity collection tin. He has now appeared in court to face the consequences of his April offences.

The 27-year-old focused his attention on the Co-op and Shell garages, stealing goods worth more than £1,100 in total.

The haul included San Miguel, Weston’s Cider and mince pies.

Magistrates noted that the crimes were particularly serious as they occurred while Knight was already subject to two existing community orders. However, they opted for a three-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, stating that rehabilitation would be better served in the community.

Items taken during the spree included skincare serums, dental products, and razors, with the total value of the stolen goods reaching approximately £2,200.

One of the largest hauls took place on 24 January this year, when skincare and other products worth £600 were taken.

A breath test revealed he had 68 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, nearly double the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.

A Telford man has been handed an 11-and-a-half-year sentence following the death of 58-year-old Paul Wilkins in April 2022.

David Lane, of Portley Road in Dawley was yesterday (Monday 9 February) sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court.

A 33-year-old man has been sent to prison following a series of incidents in the Madeley area of Telford.

Chad Bailey appeared at Telford Magistrates’ Court on 28 January where he pleaded guilty to assault and two counts of shoplifting.

The court heard how the offences took place between September and October last year. During a trip to Shrewsbury on 9 September, Stevenson stole a turntable worth £99.99 from HMV and over £300 worth of clothes and underwear from H&M.

She then focused on stores in Wellington throughout the rest of the month. On three separate occasions, she took hair care products, razors, Lynx, and fake tan from Boots.

Jonathan Beatty Thomas, 36, appeared at Telford Magistrates’ Court on 29 January following a visit to Greggs earlier that month.

The visit was a breach of a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) handed to him in November last year.

A 53-year-old man has appeared before magistrates after stealing from two stores in Telford. Khalid Mahmood, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft from a shop when he appeared at Telford Magistrates’ Court last week.

The charges are in relation to an incident on Monday 29 December 2025, where a 21-year-old man was taken from an address in Telford. The victim suffered a number of injuries during the incident and is being supported by specialist officers.

Detectives have launched an investigation after a report that a woman was raped in a forest area near Castle Green Cemetery off Lincoln Hill in Ironbridge on Christmas Eve.

Police are now looking to identify a man they believe is the suspect. He is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall, with short dark hair. He was wearing dark jeans and a black coat at the time of the incident.

Stefan Farmer, of Arleston Avenue in Arleston, Telford was given a two-year prison sentence.

A search of his property revealed a quantity of cannabis buds in an outbuilding, all vacuum packed and sealed, ready to be sold.

Officers also discovered scales, zip-bags and £50,000 in cash, all linked to drugs supply.

Ronnie Bevan, of HMP Stoke Heath, was found to have an iPhone and a Zanco type phone hidden in his cell on 6 September, 2025 at the Young Offenders Institution at HMP Stoke Heath in Shropshire.

A man has been given a 40-week custodial sentence after pleading guilty to a series of shoplifting offences across Telford.

The 27-year-old was arrested by officers on Tuesday (6 January) after he stole coffee worth £12 from Tesco Express in Woodside. 

A man from Malinslee has been handed a fine and 12 month Community Order for breaching a restraining order.

Scott Carrington broke the restraining order by turning up at the victims house and attempting to gain entry.  He was arrested near the scene after being reported to police.
