Arrest made after bag snatch

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Wellington, Telford this morning.

The incident happened at around 7.15am on Regent Street in the town, where a man stole a woman’s handbag.

Shortly afterwards a man, aged 34, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody as enquiries continue.

Officers investigating the incident are asking anyone who may have been in the area, or witnessed the incident, to contact DC Lee Hathaway by emailing DL-GCID@westmercia.police.uk quoting incident number 103i of March 23, 2024.
