We Will Rock You

Thomas Telford School is gearing up for its most electrifying event of the year on 18th to 21st of March – ‘We Will Rock You’.

This is the School’s thirty-second annual show and it is set to be the biggest and best performance yet!

Based on the music of legendary rock band Queen, ‘We Will Rock You’ promises to be a high-energy spectacle filled with outstanding live music, dazzling lighting, and unforgettable performances.

This futuristic tale tells of a massive corporation, Globalsoft, which has banned live music and any expression of creativity. However, two heroes (Galileo Figaro and Scaramouche), and a group of rebels (the Bohemians), strive to discover lost music written about in ancient texts and bring down the corporation, restoring musical creativity and releasing the Power of Rock to the world once more.

The way Thomas Telford School puts on a production is unparalleled. With a cast and crew of almost 100, and a Performing Arts Academy and Technical Team working to the highest of standards, their shows are nothing but amazing.

Every part of this process is led by students – be it the dance captains, stage crew, stage managers or the Technical Team – each aspect of the show revolves around student involvement. This is a show not to be missed.

Reviews were raving for the School’s 2013 performance of ‘We Will Rock You’:

“It just blew me away! The students rocked!!”.

“I thought it was absolutely phenomenal. The staging, singing, and acting were on a par with that produced by professionals and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.”

“The performance was brilliant, we kept saying, these are ‘kids’! Absolute top credit to everyone involved, a group of us came, including a few who had seen the show in London, and they all said it was comparable. Would have happily paid a lot more money, because it was worth it.”

‘We Will Rock You’, written by Ben Elton, first opened on 24 April 2002 and has been seen by over 15 million people worldwide, with about half of those in the UK alone.
