Town Park road closed for emergency

The road that runs from Telford Rugby Club to the QEII Arena was closed for a period today.

Metal fences diverted pedestrians to a path alongside the pool and park wardens were stopping people from venturing down the road.

The road is normally closed to through traffic anyway, but is one of the main thoroughfares for walkers.

An overhanging branch from a tree was deemed to be too dangerous to allow people to walk underneath.

A team was on the way to cut the branch down and make it safe.
