Incredible railway bridge mural in Wellington

The railway bridge on Church Street in Wellington has been painted with a poppy design, just in time for remembrance day.

The work by artist Neil Willis has been completed over a few days and in the style we have seen before in the bus shelters he has painted on Randlay and Hollinswood in Telford.

With the Wrekin and the Ercall in the background, a field of poppies in their shadow, and servicemen and women at either end of the bridge linked with the words ‘Wellington Remembers’, people are stopping in their tracks to take it in and take photos.

Should we have more of this in Telford?

  • Yes, let’s have more of this! Neil Willis is so talented. Anyone who walks on the Dothill & Shawbirch Local Nature Reserve will soon see his work appearing on the line of concrete blocks that carried a pipe connected to the sewage works (no longer there). A beautiful way to tidy up old infrastructure and give important messages too.
