Have you seen the new Thank You messages?

Thank you messages have been printed on roads and grass verges around the borough to show appreciation to all key workers and NHS staff who are working tirelessly to look after residents during the pandemic.

Thank you key workers and NHS staff.
Thank you to council contractors Balfour Beatty, WJ Road Markings and Thermmark, Idverde and Rigby Taylor who have all completed the printing ***at no cost to the council.***

Messages can be spotted all around town near to local supermarkets or shops where people will be visiting for essential goods. Locations include:

• Newport High St
• Wellington near Morrisons
• Madeley near Tesco
• 2 x Bridge Retail Park
• Donnington Near Asda
• Old Park roundabout
• Malinsgate roundabout
• Naird roundabout
• Limekiln roundabout

All works should be complete by the end of the day (depending on the weather).

Councillor Lee Carter, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “We are delighted to be able to say thank you to all the key workers in our community who are working tirelessly looking after our residents during this pandemic.

“We hope the road markings around the borough remind everyone to stop and think about the bravery of all key workers and NHS staff.

“I would also like to thank all contractors and partners for doing a fantastic job with the markings.”

    • As someone who works in the NHS, Oncology Shrewsbury, on the way home up towards the Rock last night i could see the one on old park island, i can only say thank you in return, the pride i have in my job and those that respect us (there are some who dont) puts me on an emotional rollcoaster.. a good one.

  • I had a meeting with work the other day and it seems that government are obviously going to have to tighten their belt after this, but its going around that public workers are going to see a rather nasty pay cut. I’m not 100% how accurate this is. But if true and lets be honest its not that much of a stretch, these key workers who are obviously amazing right now are potentially going to be thanked with a pay cut. Nice
