Telford Bands blow their own trumpets

In a Brass Band double, The Jackfield Band and Wellington Brass Band have hit the high notes and made it through to the National Finals later this year.

The Midlands Regional Brass Band Championship was held in Corby over the weekend where both bands secured a place in the National Finals by achieving the second place in their relevant categories.

In a poignant message, Wellington Brass Band said “We want to dedicate our performance to the wonderful Jim Wall, that was for you. This is more than just a band, it’s a family.”

Jim Wall had been a well loved and respected member of both Wellington and Jackfield Bands, who passed away in November 2023.
